Emily Braun, M.D., FAAP, IBCLC* (she, her, hers)
“I love working with adolescent and young adult patients and helping them to live healthy lives. I want to be an advocate for them and to empower them to take control of their overall health, including their mental and sexual health. Adolescence can be a challenging time, and it is a priority for me to create a safe and caring space where teens can come for care while they try to navigate this stage in their lives.”
Specialties: Pediatric and adolescent medicine, birth control counseling, Nexplanon®, IUDs, LGBTQIA+ health care, certified lactation consultant, Spanish-speaking.
Fun Facts: Dr. Braun is married to her high school sweetheart, and they have three “wild” children, a dog and a cat. In her free time, she likes to spend time with her family and travel.

Amy Lacroix, M.D. (she, her, hers)
“I have been a doctor for over 20 years and love taking care of teens and young adults and teaching other health care providers about the importance of appropriate health care for youth. I am a strong believer in making sure that family planning and sexual health care is available for patients who want or need it. I support equal and appropriate care for LGBTQIA+ patients and their families.”

Fun Facts: Dr. Lacroix grew up in Omaha, and she loves living here. She went to Central High School (GO, EAGLES!), and so did her kids. When she’s not at work, Dr. Lacroix is home with her family, on her bike, walking or reading. She loves horses and shopping on QVC. She is working hard to learn Spanish!

I love providing knowledge to my patients, especially teens and young adults, so that they can be empowered to take charge of their bodies and their health. There is so much misinformation out there; I want to provide a safe space for teens and young adults to ask questions and to get accurate information.”

Fun Facts: Melanie has two daughters and a “crazy dog.” She loves the ballet and traveling—especially to the mountains or the ocean. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music, watching movies, hiking and kayaking.
Mindee Swanson, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC* (she, her, hers)
“Even in my nursing career, I have always enjoyed caring for teens and young adults. I remember what it was like being a teenager, and I really enjoy being a listening ear for adolescents.”

Fun Facts: Mindee married her high school sweetheart, and she has two children and a “very spoiled” dog. In her free time, she enjoys going to concerts — especially outdoor festivals.
